Envirolution tour at DRI inspires students to pursue sustainability careers

On March 26, the first day of the Envirolution Sustainability Tour, students swung by the Desert Research Institute in north Reno. My 5th grade colleagues have enjoyed the activities and ideas that I have shared with them from the trainings that DRI has held so far this year. The ideas that I brought back from the training The Innovator Within helped my team develop several activities that are beginning to meet the Engineering Practices for our grade level. My colleagues need hands-on learning activities so they are able to understand what the standards document is saying. The trainings that I have attended so far have allowed my team and I to work and plan activities using a common language in order to understand the standards documents.
