Join educators from around Northern Nevada as we explore ideas for incorporating Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM) Education into your classrooms.
We will hear a dynamic keynote address by famed landscape architect Cheryl Barton, titled “The Theory of Here” addressing climate change and resilience and design. The day will also include many hands-on workshops and ways to translate ideas learned into classroom activities. We will provide continental breakfast, lunch and a late afternoon reception. We are delighted to partner with the Nevada Museum of Art, Northern Nevada RPDP and Sustainable Nevada to bring you a unique training opportunity. - Venue: Galena Creek Fish Hatchery
We will explore the great outdoors and engage in hands-on STEM curriculum with professionals from DRI GreenPower, The Great Basin Institute, and RPDP. This training will provide you with new tools to bring into your classroom and challenge you to think about how you might utilize outdoor opportunities that are available to you. During the day you can expect, hands-on workshops, outdoor field study, engaging speakers, continental breakfast and lunch, and amazing scenery! Bring your walking shoes because we’ll be taking a walk along the trails. Participants will be eligible to receive 0.5 State In-service learning credit.
