The Fall GreenPower workshop is a half a day event that includes grant writing for teachers and hands-on activities focused on Hydroponics for all grade levels. Breakfast and snacks will be served.

Grant writing for Teachers Workshop: Learn how to write small to large grants for items such as professional development opportunities, resources and materials for your classroom. At the end of this workshop you will also leave with a grant application guide and calendar specifically for educators across Nevada.

Hydroponics Workshops: You will learn about hands-on activities you can do in the classroom that are STEM focused on Hydroponics. These hands-on activities are based on our Hydroponics Green Boxes, which can be checked out after the training for classroom integration.

Nevada EnergySmart Educators offers a unit long program focused on STEM Energy Efficiency that can be incorporated in middle school and high school math and science classes. Each participant will be given:

  • Six module curriculum aligned with the Nevada State and Next Generation Science Standards, which includes numerous hands-on activities and homework lessons
  • Matching Green Boxes, available FREE year-round to implement the activities in your classroom, which include all curriculum that meet standards, hands-on activities, and all the materials for each activity
  • 1-1.5 professional development credits, In-service Learning Credits
  • Access to community-wide green experts from architects to engineers for classroom presentations
  • US Green Building Council Professional Green Classroom Certificate

Breakfast, lunch, and chocolate will be provided each day.
